A few years ago, everything was so different and now that things are going digital all our stuffs are happening online. Psychology drives us to buy products and it does help in marketing. There are a few psychological moves to create good sales.
The first and most important aspect is the novelty aspect. People run to buy something when it is limited. The curiousness to purchase something arises when we see the tag “limited edition”. Customers see that as something that is special and personal.
The second thing is the pleasure principle. All of us like to experience happiness. When we feel happy about buying something, it naturally creates a pleasure in us and it drives us to buy more. So it is the responsibility of the marketers to develop ways in which they can satisfy their customers.
Empathy is the most important part to be focused here. An example or a story can be told to the customers and it will definitely draw their attention. We can tell them how a product has created an impact others lives and how much it has benefitted. Positive points should be highlighted and it should not make them feel artificial.
It is safe to keep the customers curious. Instead of giving all the details during marketing or advertising creating the surprise element in customer’s mind is another psychological move. There should always be something that makes customers look forward.
Creating the anticipation in people’s mind create the build-up. Before launching the product it is good to create anticipation in customers’ minds. For instance, Apple brand, is always creating an anticipation where their customers keep looking forward to the new release and they prefer using it as soon as the product is launched.
Showing a proof or testimonial to customers can move customers psychologically. Reviews and ratings play a major role. Having a brand ambassador or influencer advertise the product can be an added benefit.
