iOS 15: Features and Specifications- What's New This Time?

On June 7th, the tech giant Apple will inform Apple users across the world of the new features that will be incorporated into their iPhones and introduce iOS 15 to the global market.

There is no exact date available for us as to when Apple would release its new iOS to the market which usually happens in the fall. Only last year the event had to be postponed to October.

Higher are the chances for some older models of Apple phones to be not compatible with the new software. The current software, iOS 14, is compatible with older models like iPhone 6s and 6s Plus.

Apple seems to be planning to upgrade iMessage into more like a social media platform. Although this is in an early stage, there are chances that iOS 15 would incorporate this feature in it. Bloomberg had also reported that Apple was trying to upgrade its notification where the users would be able to receive notifications according to their position. For example, they could choose which notifications to receive while sleeping or driving.

Here’s a few heads up on the same :

Notification Updates :

Users will be able to configure different notification choices based on their current condition. For example, if you’re awake, you may receive notifications with sound, however if you’re sleeping, sound may be muted. Users will be able to select from categories such as driving, working, or sleeping, as well as build custom categories to handle notifications in a variety of ways. The Lock Screen and the Control Center will both include menu options for selecting a mode. Apple is also offering additional options for automatically responding to incoming messages based on these conditions. The single auto-reply option currently available works when driving but not in other situations.

Messages on the iPhone

Updates to iMessage are in the pipeline, but no details are known at this time. Apple is thought to be attempting to compete more effectively with WhatsApp.

Confidentiality

Apple will add a new menu that indicates which apps are gathering data from users invisibly, with the goal of increasing device privacy even more.

Tracking of Food

According to an unsubstantiated rumour, Apple is planning to update the Health app with a new meal monitoring function, but it’s unclear how extensive this feature would be. It has the potential to allow users to document the foods they eat, as well as provide nutritional information and calorie tracking.
