Spotify introduced its “Only You” feature on iOS and Android devices. It lets you foreground your favourite music in many interactive ways. The feature also provides you with a playlist customised based on the music you like. Spotify allows you to share this playlist with your friends.
There are even more interactive options provided by the “Only You” feature. You can merge your playlist with that of your friend to create a brand new playlist, known as the Blend feature. Your music will continually be updated if you invite a friend who has a free or premium account.
The Blend feature is only in its beta version now. It lets you connect with your friend on a brand new level by sharing the favourite music. The Blend feature can now be accessed by going into the ‘Made for Two’ button in the Only You hub.
The Only You feature is available on the Spotify app’s homepage. The prompt button will give you an introduction by playing some of the personalised facts about the user. Below are some features that the “Only you” includes:
An Audio Birth Chart: It gives an artist as your sun sign representing the artist that you have most listened to, an artist as your moon sign representing the most emotive artist you have listened to and an artist as the rising sun sign representing the one whom you have recently listened to.
Your Dream Dinner Party option in the Only You feature lets you choose three artists whom you would like to invite to dinner. Choosing three from your nine options would get a new mix.
Artist Pair: Your listening range is indicated in the app by providing you with a pair of artists.
Song Year: this indicates the music that you listen to in a year
Time of Day: this feature shows the music or podcast you listen to during the early morning or late night.
Topics: it shows how the music you listen to sets you apart from others
Spotify now has almost 365 million users. Later this year Spotify is planning to provide its customer’s CD quality music through its Spotify HiFi subscription programme.
