Virtual Apple Worldwide Developers Conference 2021 from Today
Apple Worldwide Developers Conference 2021, held virtually, begins on 7th June. We expect an introduction to new versions of iOS, macOS, iPad OS, tvOS and watch OS along with the grand exposition of the new software from Cupertino. The event lasts for five days and is said to host almost 200 sessions which would enlighten the developers on various new developments in the field. Apple’s next-generation MacBook Pro models are also expected to be launched during this event.
Apple, in its Keynote address, will announce the major software updates to iOS 15, iPadOS 15, macOS12, watchOS 8 and tvOS15.
iOS 15 is specifically for iPhone users and will be introduced during the keynote for the event. It comes with an inbuilt iMessage and provides the users with an experience similar to social messaging platforms like Whatsapp. It also comes with new privacy features and also new notification experience for its users.
iPadOS 15, the new iPad OS version will benefit Apple’s iPad Pro users also. It comes with changes to the home screen of the tables and also with accessibility features available for iOS 15 and iPad 15 users.
macOS 12 will be available for MacBook, iMac and Mac users though without any major changes.
WatchOS 8, specifically for Watch users, comes with personalized fitness tracking features, gesture support and other features that enhance user experience.
tvOS 15 is a new software version for Apple TV users which is expected to provide an enhanced playback experience of the content. The software updates could match the Apple TV 4K hardware launched in April.
homes refer to Apple’s idea of bringing a dedicated operating system for connected devices i.e. devices that work in connection with an iPhone, iPad or Mac.
Apple is also expected to launch its next-generation MacBook Pro models which will be available in 14 and 16 inches and has a flatter design and Apple Silicon features in them.
The event, live-streamed from Apple’s Campus in California, will begin at 10 am PDT (10.30 pm IST) on 7th June. The show can be accessed through Apple’s YouTube channel, Apple TV app, Apple’s official website and the Apple developer app.
