YouWeCan to join hands with Other Startups to aid critical covid patients. The former Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh’s non-profit organisation named YouWeCan has partnered with OneDigitalEntertainment to install 1000 beds across the country for covid patients who are in critical condition.
OneDigitalEntertainment aims to increase the capacity of government hospitals, army hospitals, charitable and autonomous hospitals in the country.
On Wednesday along with announcing his organisation’s plans Yuvraj Singh also recommended other startups and research institutions in India to join hands to build a hospital facilities that are more cost-effective and has quality facilities. He mentioned that his an organisation would welcome any researcher or scientist or innovator who is willing to contribute to the mission to make healthcare more affordable and prompt.
India is facing an acute shortage of hospital beds due to the increase in covid 19 cases. The organisation YouWeCan aims to set up 1000 beds designed particularly for covid 19 patients. 50% of beds would be BiPAP enables and 10% would be enabled with ventilators according to the announcement made by the foundation. Other equipment that is necessary for the better care of covid patients like oxygen cylinders would also be provided by the organisation.
The organisation has now started raising funds for their ‘mission1000bed’. It has been able to setup beds in UP, Delhi NCR, Punjab, Jammu and Kashmir, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan, Telangana, Karnataka and Madhya Pradesh.
YouWeCan was founded in 2012 by Yuvraj Singh and his mother Shabnam Singh as a non-profit organisation that focuses on cancer treatments. Its programmes included cancer awareness programmes, treatment support and empowerment of the survivors. It is mainly based in India. As a cancer survivor, Youraj wanted to help and support cancer patients and so far his organisation has reached out to almost 3,50,000 people.
The foundation is an investor in Holosuit, Healthians, JetSetGo, EasyDiner and Wellversed. The organisation had contributed almost Rs2 crore for supporting the treatment of covid patients at first. Now it is trying to join hands with more startups to enable better health care facilities for covid patients.
