TUV Rheinland Approves Poco F3 GT Ahead of India Launch in Q3

The Poco F3 GT has allegedly been seen in a TUV Rheinland certification listing. The phone is thought to be a rebranded Redmi K40 Gaming Edition, which was released in China in April. It is expected to be released in India in the third quarter of this year, featuring the same MediaTek Dimensity 1200 SoC as the Redmi 40 Gaming Edition. The Poco F3 GT was recently detected in a US Federal Communications Commission (FCC) listing, which also hinted at some of the characteristics. It also has the same model number as the Redmi K40 Gaming Edition.

Poco India stated late last month that the Poco F3 GT will be released in India in Q3 2021 and will be powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 1200 SoC. Now, a reliable source has given a screenshot of what appears to be a TUV Rheinland certification listing for a phone with the model number M2012K10C / M2012K10I. The ‘I’ at the end most likely refers to the launch country, which in this case is India. This model number is reported to be for the Poco F3 GT and is quite similar to the model number for the Redmi K40 Gaming Edition, implying that the Poco product is most likely a rebranded Redmi K40 Gaming Edition.

Except for the model number, the claimed TUV Rheinland listing contains no further information regarding the phone. However, we do know the Redmi K40 Game Edition’s characteristics, which are expected to be reproduced in the Poco F3 GT.

Specifications for the Poco F3 GT (expected)

The Poco F3 GT is said to run Android 11 with MIUI 12.5 layered on top. A 6.67-inch full-HD+ (1,080×2,400 pixels) OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, 480Hz touch sampling rate, and HDR10+ compatibility is rumoured to be included. The phone will be powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 1200 SoC and could have up to 12GB of LPDDR4x RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage on the inside.

Poco F3 GT could include a triple rear camera arrangement with a 64-megapixel primary sensor with an f/1.65 lens, an 8-megapixel sensor with an ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 2-megapixel sensor for photographs and videos. A 16-megapixel selfie camera could be put in a centrally located hole-punch cutout on the front.

Wi-Fi, 5G, GPS, NFC, and a USB Type-C port for charging could all be available on the Poco F3 GT. It may also include a fingerprint scanner on the side. A 5,065mAh battery with 67W rapid charging capabilities might power the phone.
