Twitter: Need More Time to Adopt New IT Rules of Indian Govt

The Social Media giant, Twitter has announced that it needs more time to cope with the new IT rules of India. Twitter has made sure to the Indian Government that they are trying in every possible way to adopt the new rules. They requested to the government that their efforts to be taken into consideration.

A spokesperson of Twitter has said that they are keeping the government updated about their steps they are taking to follow the new guidelines of the Indian government. Twitter has already said that the pandemic is the main reason of their delay for adopting the new rules.

The Indian government has recently changed some of its social media policies and has advised all the social media platform to follow the new norms. The government is liable to provide the citizens of India a more secure experience in social media.

As Twitter is one of the important social media platforms, these rules absolutely apt for Twitter to follow. But as Twitter is delaying to adopt these new policies, the govt of India has expressed its concerns toward the lack of serious of Twitter for Indian government and the safety of Indian people who are active in this social media platform.

Ministry of the Board of Elections has already commented that Twitter is an active social media platform in India for more than a decade now. The board has expressed its astonishment at how Twitter is lagging behind in order to provide absolute safety to its users.

The government has taken up some policies wherein social media platforms people would be able to solve their problems in a transparent way and they will be provided with a solution within a desirable timeline. But Twitter has not taken any steps towards providing their users this service. Whereas other social media platforms have already provided this service to the users.
