The chief executive officer of the Gates Foundation, Mark Suzman has announced this plan that has been taken up by the world’s biggest philanthropic foundations to makes its foundation base stronger. This decision will ensure a successful transition of the 50 billion dollars that the company has spent to combat poverty and disease for over two decades. If Melina decides to resign from her post after two years, she will receive her personal resources from the Gates Foundation for her philanthropic works for the poor. This amount will be completely separate from the company’s endowment. This has been said in the company’s blog post.
After Melinda has resigned, Bill Gates will be the only steward of this company. In many events, Bill and Melinda together have called this foundation their ‘fourth child’. Melinda and Bill’s gates have lodged their divorce in May, this year after 27 years of their successful marriage. But they have also said in the file of their divorce that they will continue to work as co-chairs in their philanthropic work.
The company has said that Bill and Melinda will contribute 15 billion dollars together, which will be their largest amount since 2000. Then the total amount of their endowment will be 65 billion dollars. We can assume that this will a billionaire benefactor.
