Van Leeuwen has said that they have been blown away by the responses of the customers so far after their launch of the new Mac and Cheese-Flavoured Ice Cream. The internet is blowing up with the pictures of this new ice cream. Ice cream company Van Leeuwen has partnered with Kraft and made this mac and cheese-flavoured ice cream.
To promote their product, the company has even sent out a free sample Mac and Cheese ice cream truck in New York City’s Union Square. The sale of this new Ice Cream has started on Wednesday, $12 for each Ice Cream. This flavour is a limited edition.
The company has received mixed reactions from ice cream devotees and foodies from all over the world. Some of them were very excited about this new flavour and some has called it disgusting. CEO and Co-Founder of Van Leeuwen, Ben Van Leeuwen has said that they knew that the public would be intrigued as they are mixing two of the most favourite food of people- ice cream and mac & cheese.
This particular ice cream brand was able to survive during the pandemic because it has shifted its storefront products on delivery platforms. Van Leeuwen has said that in the middle of the lockdown, they have seen their delivery sales increase by over 1000%. He has also said that though this profit doesn’t completely cover the sales loss from a typical walk-up business.
Apart from this flavour, the company has also introduced flavours like Rhubarb Crumble with Sweet Basil and Mango Lassi as well as CBD-infused scoops and a Spinach flavour. Van Leeuwen said that his company love new challenges.
