Instagram is trying to launch its new sticker called ‘Captions’ in a few months. The sticker allows the user to transcribe the audio automatically and add it in the form of captions to the video. The user will have to add the ‘captions’ sticker to their sticker collection to use it in their stories. The sticker comes with different fonts which the user could choose from.
The feature is still being tested and will take a few months before it is launched. However, Matt Navarra, the social media consultant, shared a thirty seconds video to show how the feature would work. The video reveals that the feature is not yet perfect to be launched.
The user has to add the ‘captions’ sticker to the video that they wish to upload. The text in the form of captions that will be visible on the screen after it shows ‘Transcribing audio’ for a few seconds.
This feature would inspire the users to bring out new forms of content into the platform. It also makes video contents more accessible to people who have hearing issues. The captions would help them to grab the video content of Instagram stories completely. The creators could enlarge their audience using this feature as it allows synchronising the audio content with video. Users who wish to watch the stories with their audio turn off could also benefit from this feature.
In the Threads app of Instagram, they had launched the same feature where the users could post videos with captions. Though it was not a success for the app, people had created many videos with captions and uploaded their videos on other platforms like TikTik. The captions feature was also able to bock curse words using a beep sound.
While the captions sticker is not available for the general Instagram users yet, in a few months the users would be able to use this feature in their stories.
